Maybe this is why I surf the net during meetings...

Our pastor this morning was preaching on what a team that serves together looks and acts like. And he was saying that a team empathizes with one another and part of that is slowing down to listen. In the midst of that, he reeled off two stats that caught my attention:

The average person can speak at 150 words per minute.
That same average person can listen at 650 words per minute.

His commentary on that? "That's a 500 word gap for us to get bored." Indeed.
